Fairfax County Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left one man dead.

An officer pulled over a green SUV near the intersection of Rt. 1 and Fort Hunt Rd in Alexandria, police said. The driver of that vehicle stopped but then sped off.

The SUV came to a stop after hitting a sedan. That driver was not seriously injured.

At least one shot was fired into the suspect's car, hitting the driver.
