Audi Struck by 2 Bullets on I-66

Police find two slugs

Police are investigating how an Audi was struck by two bullets while traveling on Interstate 66 on New Year's Day.

Virginia State Police said the 2006 Audi was going eastbound on I-66 between Exit 44 (Route 234 Bypass) and the Groveton Road Overpass at about 12:30 p.m. when the driver heard a loud noise. After checking out the vehicle, a bullet hole was found on the vehicle's passenger side rear door. An indentation was also found above the gas tank on the passenger side near the rear of the car.

Investigators recovered two slugs from the car and are now trying to figure out who fired the shots.

The driver and passenger in the car were not injured.
