Two Virginians Sickened in Salmonella Outbreak

Investigation points to ground beef

Two people from Virginia are among those sickened in an outbreak of salmonella enteritidis, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

The investigation into the outbreak points to the ground beef produced at a single Cargill Meat Solutions production facility, according to the CDC. Almost 30,000 pounds of ground beef were recalled Sunday

Across seven states 33 people have become ill. Eleven have been hospitalized. No deaths related to the outbreak have been reported.
