Sneaky MRSA Returns to Montgomery County

advertisement

With swine flu and health care getting all the illness attention these days, MRSA snuck up on three high school students in Montgomery County.

Students at Northwest High School in Germantown and Walt Whitman and Walter Johnson high schools in Bethesda contracted the staph infection.

The Northwest student is a football player who was treated and cleared to return to school. His teammates are being asked to get tested as a precaution.

The MRSA bacteria can be fatal if it spreads to the blood or develops into pneumonia.
