A pastor in Prince George’s County, Md., is battling the bulge and wants his congregation to do the same.
The Soul Factory Pastor Deron Cloud started a weight loss challenge at his congregations in Forestville, Md., and Stone Mountain, Ga.
“Health connects our minds, it connects our spirits, it connects our body, and if your body is not together then, it’s going to be hard for your spirit to act and it’s going to be hard for you to think,” Cloud said.
He pledged to lose between 40 and 50 pounds in the next 90 days and wants his congregations to do the same.
Cloud said lots of parishioners have already pledged to join the weight loss challenge.
He's hoping the church will lose a combined 4,000 pounds by the end of November.
