Memory Loves the Mediterranean Diet

What you remember may depend on what you eat.    Meals heavy into fish and vegetables, and light on the meat and dairy, result in a 28% lower risk of searching for the car keys or forgetting the grocery list, according to a study in the Archives of Neurology.

And, that same mediterranean diet also lowered the risk of getting alzheimers disease by nearly 50%.

Currently the diet's recommended for lowering bad cholesterol levels to improve heart health,  "...but it may also be helpful for their brain function as well," according to researcher Nikolaos Scarmeas at Columbis University Medical Center in New York.
