Frederick Memorial Hospital confirmed to News4 Maryland's first flu-related death this season.
An elderly person died earlier this week of complications from the flu.
The Frederick News-Post reported 94 confirmed cases of flu at the hospital in the first 10 days of the year compared with 29 confirmed cases from November 2011 to March 2012. Ten of this year's patients have been admitted to intensive care.
