Marathon Mayor Makes Most Fit List
Men's Fitness ranks Fenty with 25 most fit men in the world

WASHINGTON -- How does a mayor find a place alongside world-class athletes in a list of the fittest men in the world? With a little editorial leeway, we assume.
That's not to say that D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty doesn't deserve some recognition for his fitness, but we're guessing the marathoning mayor landed on Men's Fitness' 25 Fittest Guys list because simply listing a bunch of athletes would be boring.
So alongside athletes like tennis player Rafael Nadal, world's fastest man Usain Bolt, Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, all-world basketball player LeBron James, boxer Manny Pacquiao and NFL wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, Men's Fitness has sprinkled in some actors (Hugh Jackman, Robert Downey Jr., Clive Owen), a driver (Formula One champ Lewis Hamilton), a singer (Akon), a billionaire (Sir Richard Branson), a recovering drug addict (Josh Hamilton) and our beloved Hizzoner.
Fenty made the list for exercising like a pro despite his mayoral duties and travel plans. He takes a long run three times a week and also swims (in heated public pools) and bikes when he can.
While we might take a Fenty over a Branson, we can think of thousands of people fitter than Fenty, like maybe someone who's won a National Marathon, who didn't make the list.
But if Men's Fitness needed a politician for their list, we're proud they chose ours.
