Coffee Has More Perks Than You Think

New studies show lots of health benefits

If cutting back on coffee is on your list of resolutions for the coming year, you might want to think twice before changing your latte from venti to tall.

Numerous studies show that a cup of joe can help lower your risk of everything from cancer to Alzheimer's Disease.

Studies show men drinking six cups per day can lower their risk of prostate cancer, according to the studies.

Have five cups, and your chance of developing Alzheimer's can drop by 65 percent.

Women who drink four cups each day cut their risk of stroke by 43 percent.

Three cups of java lowers the risk of gallstones by 20 percent.

Just two cups a day can impact your mental health. One study found that it lowered the risk of suicide in women by 60 percent.

And even if you drink just one cup, you may be 7 percent less likely to develop type two diabetes.

But is it possible to have too much of a good thing? On the heels of all these perky studies were plenty that showed the downside to java.

Pregnant women who drank more than two cups each day doubled their risk of miscarriage. The amount of caffeine in two cups of coffee can also cause anxiety, jitters and upset stomach.
