If you're single and are looking for a rich, sexy and smart mate, look no further than Northern Virginia. Money Magazine has ranked Arlington the second best city for the "rich and single."

The article cites Arlington's trendy neighborhoods such as Clarendon as ideal spots to snag a brainy professional; it points to workplaces like the Pentagon, National Science Foundation and the Office of Naval Research as attracting intellectually stimulating bachelors and bachelorettes.

More than 40 percent of Arlingtonians are single, and the median family income is $108,815, reports Money Magazine.

Arlington isn't the only locality in Northern Virginia to make the "rich and single" list; Herndon ranks eighth due to its high concentration of tech gurus who work at nearby AOL, Accenture, Verizon and Microsoft.
