I am an owner of an 2006 Audi a4 and I have been experiencing a lot of problems with the transmission. Apparently, audi uses a transmission called CVT (continuous variable transmission). It is suppose to conserve more fuel thus providing more gas per milage, however, it's very problematic and expensive to fix. I started to experience problems with my car after my warranty was done (usually after 5 years or after 50,000 miles). My car milage at the time I started to experience problems was around 60,000. It started to do jerking motions and it would decelerate and accelarate on its own which is very dangerous. I went to audi to have it looked at and they told me that it was the transmission and it will cost over $2000. They also said that they see this problem a lot with this type of transmission. If they see this problem a lot then why do they still use this transmission. I went to research online to see if other audi owners have the same problems and come to find out they sure do and far worse. There were many complaints of the same issue since 2002 and nothing has been done about it. Other people have had to get their transmission fixed not once but three times!!! Audi is a very expensive car. They advertise that their cars are top of the line, reliable and dependable. It's false advertising!
