Belgian supermarket chain Delhaize says it is cutting almost 5,000 jobs in the United States as it closes 'underperforming' stores.
In Maryland, the Bloom store on 8425 Woodsboro Pike in Walkersville will close.
In Virginia, Bloom stores will close at the following locations:
-7000 Columbia Pike, Annandale
- 43930 Farmwell Road, Ashburn
- 11181-A Lee highway, Fairfax
- 1050 Elden Street, Herndon
- 240 Fort Evans Road, Leesburg
- 14055 Nobelwood Plaza, Woodbridge
Five Bottom Dollar Food stores are slated to close in Virginia, and one in our area, at 8750 Richmond Highway in Alexandria.
A distribution center located in Tennessee will also be closed.
