Oswald Exits Bus Between Lamar & Poydras Streets

At about 12:40 p.m., Lee Harvey Oswald boarded a Dallas city bus near Elm and Murphy streets.

The bus proceeded west on Elm Street, headed directly toward the Texas School Book Depository -- where Oswald was only moments before.

After traveling just over 1/10 of a mile, Oswald exits the bus on Elm Street between Lamar and Poydras streets.††

Oswald is believed to have walked south on Lamar Street, crossing Main Street where the presidential motorcade passed by only moments before, toward Commerce Street and the Greyhound Bus Station.††
