Taste of DC Returns This Weekend

Foodies, rejoice! Taste of D.C. is coming to town this Saturday through Sunday for their annual food festival.

Four blocks along Pennsylvania Avenue will be blocked off and packed with restaurant stands, live entertainment, breweries and more. More than 60 local restaurants will be present and will have samples from their menus for between $1 and $3. Menu favorites will also be available for $8 or less. Participants are encouraged to bring cash, although some restaurants will accept credit cards.

For 21+ guests, there will be several beverage stations, as well as a biergarten and wine walk.

In addition to local artists and cooking demonstrations throughout the weekend, Ben's Chili Bowl will be having their sixth annual World Chili Eating Championship at Taste of D.C. Those who have the stomachs for it can watch the competition on the main stage on Saturday at 3 p.m. and see if reigning champion Joey "Jaws" Chestnut will take gold for the second year in a row.

Members of the military are invited to participate in Ben's Chili Bowl Military Chili Eating Championship, with registration open now.

There are several ticket options to attend, ranging from $20 to $80. The ultimate foodie can purchase the full package for $80, entitling them to a group seminar, speciality cocktails in VIPs area and more, while a $20 general admission ticket grants admission, a complimentary voucher and a $10 gift card valid at select locations.

The festival opens on Saturday at 1 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m.; Sunday, it opens at 11 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m. The general entrance is at 7th Street NW, while VIP ticket holders enter at 3rd Street NW on Pennsylvania Avenue.
