DC Area Stores Close Doors for Thanksgiving, Look to Black Friday

Many stores are taking a stand against Thanksgiving Day shopping, preferring to give their employees and customers the chance to spend more time with family on the holiday.

The largest shopping mall in the nation, the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota, announced it would be closed on the holiday. Various stores in the D.C. area are following suit, keeping their doors closed for Thanksgiving.

The list below is not meant to be a comprehensive list of closed stores. It is a good idea to contact stores in advance to find out more about their holiday plans.
