How Much Did We Get? Snowfall Totals for D.C., Md. and Va.

After a storm blew through the Washington region overnight, roads are being cleared and many schools systems are closed or delayed.

National Weather Service meteorologist Howard Silverman said Monday evening that while snow was expected to fall throughout the night, Maryland and Washington would likely see only flurries later Tuesday morning.

Silverman said the snow is expected to stop falling by Tuesday afternoon. By then, he said, the Mid-Atlantic region will be blanketed by 1-3 inches of snow. Some areas of western Maryland, particularly Allegheny County, are expected to see much more snow on the ground than the rest of the state due to heavy snowfall on Sunday and early Monday.
