Shenandoah National Park Offers Free Day for Residents of Bordering Counties

Shenandoah National Park is celebrating its neighbors by offering residents in nine counties a fee-free day.

The annual Shenandoah Neighbors Day will be held June 20. Entrance fees will be waived for residents living in counties bordering the park. The counties are: Albemarle, Augusta, Greene, Madison, Nelson, Page, Rappahannock, Rockingham, and Warren counties.

Delaware North, the park's concessionaire, will offer discounts to residents in the nine counties on retail, food and beverage items. The Shenandoah National Park Association will offer discounts at its bookstores at the Byrd and Dickey Ridge visitor centers.

The park says visitors who want to take advantage of the discounts must show their Virginia driver's license to provide proof of residency.
