Grab a costume and get ready to scream!
Every Monday in October, you can catch an outdoor screening of a classic horror movie in Crystal City. The series began Oct. 5 with "Pet Semetary."
The movies are free and will begin as soon as darkness falls (muah-ha-ha). Just grab a blanket and head down to the courtyard on S. Bell Street between 18th and 20th streets in Arlington.
In between screams, snap a picture of your costume and tag #CrystalScream on Twitter or Instagram for a chance to win $20 to the Schakolad Chocolate Factory in Crystal City. You'll need some chocolate to comfort you after watching these creepy flicks.
The movie schedule is below:
- Oct. 5 - "Pet Semetary"
- Oct. 12 - "Scream"
- Oct. 19 - "Poltergeist"
- Oct. 26 - "Exorcist"
The series is a partnership between the Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) and Vornado/Charles E. Smith.

"The cooler fall temperatures and earlier sunsets combined with Halloween make for the perfect opportunity for a scary experience," said Crystal City BID CEO/President Angela Fox.
