Poe House to Temporarily Reopen in October

The currently shuttered home of Edgar Allan Poe in Baltimore will re-open to visitors for free in October before closing again ahead of its permanent re-opening in the spring.

Poe's home closed a year ago. Now the non-profit that runs the home says it will be open for weekends in October.

The museum will first open Oct. 5 as part of Free Fall Baltimore, a city-wide arts celebration that includes free admission to museums, walking tours, festivals and workshops.

Poe lived at the home on North Amity Street from 1833 to 1835.
