Anchormen Raise Money to Fight Breast Cancer

2nd annual event set for July 11

D.C.'s anchormen are breaking out their pink to support the fight against breast cancer.

The 2nd annual Meet the Newzdudes: Men In Media fundraiser will be held July 11 to raise funds for those suffering from the deadly illness.

News4's Chief Meteorologist Doug Kammerer, sports anchor Dan Hellie, News4 Today's Aaron Gilchrist and Chuck Bell and News4 reporter Chris Gordon will host the event. They will be joined by anchormen from WUSA9, Fox5 and ABC7, along with other local media personalities, including Fresh FM 94.7 DJ Tommy McFly and celebrity host Paul Wharton.

Guests will enjoy drinks and appetizers at the Redline Gastrolounge (707 G St. NW) across from the Verizon Center from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $25. Valet parking is available.

Men Against Breast Cancer is the nation's first and only non-profit organization that educates and empowers men to be there for the women they love when breast cancer strikes.

Newzdudes is a collective initiative with D.C. Newsbabes, which held their annual bash June 27 to raise funds for the Howard University Cancer Center.
