National Zoo Closes Ahead of Snow

    The National Zoo closed early Monday in anticipating of the snow.

    The zoo said on its website and on Twitter that it would close at 3 p.m. Monday and will remain closed until it is safe for visitors.

    The zoo is home to approximately 2,000 different animals of 400 different species.

    The zoo is normally open every day but Christmas.
