Late-Night 5K Event to Feature Olympic Gold Medalist Natasha Hastings

    District Running Collective

    D.C. runners will get the chance to take part in a unique running experience this weekend. District Running Collective will host Midnight on Mars IV, a two-day retail, fitness and interactive event.

    This year's event at Union Market's Lab 1270 91270 5th St. NE) will feature special guests including Olympic gold medalist Natasha Hastings.

    The event kicks off Friday night with a welcome happy hour as well as an appearance by Hastings, who took gold in Rio earlier this year. Participants are invited back Saturday for a day of interactive fitness activations, including a nutrition session and a session on Instagram photography. The late-night 5K starts at 8 p.m., followed by a post-run celebration at D.C. Pavilion.

    Rock Creek Social Club's DJ Farrah Flosscett and DJ Jerome Baker III will provide music, in addition to a live performance by Black Alley Band on Saturday night. There will also be a pop-up retail shop and giveaways.

    Registration for 5K participants is $25 to $30.
