Theme park to hire 644 workers to perform in annual Halloween Haunt

Kings Dominion will hire 644 seasonal workers to perform in the theme park's annual Halloween Haunt, park officials announced Friday.

The number is a six percent increase from 2012.

The park will host five upcoming "scream tests" for job hunters interested in performing as monsters and other scary creatures:

  • Saturday, July 27, 5-9 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 3, 5-9 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 10, 5-9 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 17, 5-9 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 24, 5-9 p.m.

Job seekers should apply online before attending a casting call.

The park's Halloween Haunt -- open on select nights between Sept. 27 and Oct. 27 -- wll feature 10 mazes, six "scare zones", five live shows and hundreds of monsters roaming the park in Doswell, Va.
