Just in time for Memorial Day, the GI Film Festival is set to share films about the military experience from American and international filmmakers.
Kicking off Monday, the fest will showcase short and feature-length films, documentaries, and much more, including Q&As with filmmakers, a kick-off cocktail party, red carpet events and special exhibitions.
Special events include Wednesday night's Journey to Casablanca, which includes French-Moroccan food, drinks and a screening of "One Night in Casablanca." Attendees are asked to arrive decked out in their 1940s best.
Most events are in Fairfax's up-and-coming Mosaic District, with a few in D.C. as well.
