Forget Your Pants When You Ride Metro Sunday

No Pants Ride starts at 2 p.m.

You can take a short trip on Metro almost any time, but this Sunday you can make it a 'shorts' trip. Or even a 'briefs' one.

On Sunday, the annual No Pants Metro Ride will pull into the L'Enfant Plaza station at 2 p.m. Inspired by the No Pants Subway Ride, which hit New York in 2002, travelers that afternoon will shed their trousers right on the train.

Anyone can partcipate, and organizers will give riders the skinny a few minutes before the event proper begins.

One key note if you're interested: Riders have to act as though nothing is out of the ordinary, whether they take a nap or read the paper. The event's Facebook page says it's even better to appear as though you had no idea you were missing pants.

However, if a Metro official asks you to redress, the group says it's best to follow orders.

The group also says underwear shouldn't reveal anything too lewd -- and riders should have a bag or backpack in which to keep their pants.

Once they tire of the January chill, the half-dressed group will get a full-service party at the Level One bar in Dupont Circle. The party starts at 5 p.m.

If you're interested, head to Hancock Park on C Street southwest a 2 p.m. Sunday.
