Citi Open
All Weekend, Rock Creek Park Tennis Center

D.C.'s premiere tennis event is back for its 50th anniversary. It runs through Sunday, and each day boats multiple sessions. This is a professional tournament, and competition is intense. Most tickets start at $25, but Citi Open partnered with the American Experience Foundation to provide special discounted tickets for kids from low-income families.

If tennis isn't enough, the Citi Open also offers tailgate parties with endless food and drinks, a ladies' day with brunch and even its own Brew Fest.

Summer Spirit Festival

Erykah Badu, Nas, Method Man & Redman, Lion Babe and more artists are scheduled to perform Saturday while Sunday brings The Roots, Anderson .Paak, Daniel Cesar and Lizzo. Weekend passes start at $108 and day passes start at $60.

Outright 2018: DC's LGBTQ Literary Festival
Opening party on Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., programming Saturday and Sunday beginning at 10 a.m.

The festival kicks off Friday night with a comedy show at Ten Tigers Parlor (tickets cost $15 in advance and $20 at the door). The D.C. Reeves Center hosts two reading rooms and a series on panels on Saturday. You can attend a number of workshops on Sunday. Here's a full schedule.

This special exhibit features photos from the front lines of the Civil War's Antietam battlefield— some of the first images to bring civilians to war.

Taste of Studio Theatre

Peek behind the curtain ahead of the Studio Theatre's 40th season. The day kicks off with the opening of the "Black Broadway on U" photo exhibit opening. You can also preview set designs, enjoy a performance from Batala Washington and cap the day off with cake.

Sneak Attack DC
