Aretha Franklin Cancels Friday Performance at Wolf Trap

The Queen of Soul's scheduled performance at Wolf Trap in Virginia has been cancelled.

Aretha Franklin said in a statement posted on Wolf Trap's website that the cancellation for Friday's show was "due to doctor's orders."

"Regretfully, due to doctors' orders I will have to cancel a few concerts for the next month or so," Franklin's statement said. "I'm especially disappointed because two of them are among my favorite cities, Washington D.C. and New York. I don't want to miss any."

Refunds for tickets bought directly from Wolf Trap or from tickets.com will be processed automatically over the next three weeks, the music venue said. Those who bought their tickets via credit card will have the purchase refunded directly to their cards. Those who bought tickets by check, cash or gift certificate will receive refund checks in the mail; ticket-buyers can contact Wolf Trap at 703-255-1868 to verify their addresses.

Those who bought their tickets through third parties, including resellers, should contact those third parties for refunds, Wolf Trap said.
