Nobody puts The Situation in a corner, least of all the judges on "Dancing With the Stars."

The "Jersey Shore" cast member was surprised by the sharp criticism he received after his first performance on the ABC reality show this week, reports the New York Daily News.

"I didn't think it was bad," he said in an interview with TMZ. "I think the judges were a little harsh."

The Situation's 15 points tied him for lowest score on the night of the show's premiere with comedian Margaret Cho and actor David Hasselhoff, who was subsequently voted off.

Judge Len Goodman said that the famously ripped, wanna be ladies man had "the guns but not the ammunition," while another judge, Bruno Toniolo, squinted at the duo and said, "there's a spark somewhere."

The Situation - given name Mike Sorrentino - noted that he only had five days to prepare for his outing with professional dancer Karina Smirnoff. Smirnoff told TMZ.com that she was "very proud" of her partner's performance.

In an interview with People, Sorrentino said that he felt had something of a bum rap because of his "reputation" on "Jersey Shore," that of a hard partying, tanned, cut up.

But that reality check might be just what the doctor ordered, said "DWTS" dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

"I'm a big believer in you got what you got, you run with it, you make what you can while it's hot and Mike is certainly doing that," he told E! Online. "I just feel like he needs to humble down coming to my domain, because that's my show."
