Rosie O'Donnell Marries Girlfriend

TV personality announces marriage one week after news of heart attack released.

A week after announcing that she had suffered a heart attack, Rosie O'Donnell reveals that she got hitched to fiancee Michelle Rounds on June 9.

The couple, who announced their engagement in Dec. 2011, exchanged vows during a private ceremony in New York, O'Donnell's rep Cindi Berger confirmed to People. "They got married but they haven't had the wedding celebration," she added.

The wedding date was moved forward after Rounds was diagnosed with desmoid tumors, a rare disease that only affects three out of every million people. The two originally planned to be married in August, but they chose to get married quietly in June before Rounds' first surgery on June 14, according to People.

"It is such a rare tumor. It took them quite a while to get an accurate diagnosis," said Berger. "She had several gastrointestinal surgeries to remove the desmoid tumors. She is now on the road to recovery."

"We married in private before [Michelle's] surgery, just the [two] of us," O'Donnell wrote on her blog. "When we r both well enough will have the wedding of r dreams surrounded by those we cherish."

"Thankful for the love and support so many have given us during these trying times," she continued in the post. "Including all of u stranger-friends connected thru invisible strands of wi fi."

O'Donnell was previously married to Kelli Carpenter from 2004 to 2007. The two are parents to adopted children Parker, Chelsea and Christopher. Their fourth child Vivienne was born in 2002 to Carpenter.

O'Donnell and Rounds began dating in the summer of 2011.
