Rep: Miley Cyrus to End “Hannah Montana”

Miley Cyrus is saying goodbye to her Disney Channel show, "Hannah Montana," a rep for the starlet confirmed to Access Hollywood.

In news first reported by The New York Post, a rep for Miley confirmed to Access that the show would start shooting it's fourth and final season on January 18. The rep said the network does not know how many episodes it will shoot or when it would wrap it's season, but noted there are enough new episodes to air through 2011.

"You never know in this business . . . but right now we're scheduled to wrap [forever] after shooting this new batch of episodes," Disney Channel Worldwide's Adam Bonnett, senior VP of Programming, told the Post.

The plot of the final season will reportedly mirror Miley's own life, as her character must decided if she is going to leave her secret double life as a pop star in for the life of an everyday teen.

Miley will have a few guest stars in the fourth season of "Hannah Montana."

According to the paper, Ray Liotta will guest in the fourth-season opener, and "Two and a Half Men" star Angus Young is slated for a future episode.

But could the end of "Hannah Montana" be a sign that the teen starlet is poised to transition into more mature big screen roles?

In October, Miley told Billy Bush for Access Hollywood and "The Billy Bush Show" that she has nothing but gratitude for her time on the Disney series, but that she would like move on to different projects

"I could never say anything bad about it because [that's] what gave me my start and it has been so amazing. It's given me the opportunity to grow as an artist," she said at the time. "It was really a great learning experience. But I definitely am ready to go on and do other things."

The actress will next bee seen in the coming of age drama, "The Last Song," adapted from the Nicholas Sparks novel in April and also in a cameo as herself in "Sex and The City 2," which hits theaters on May 28.
