Peter Cook sat down with TODAY's Savannah Guthrie a day after Brinkley's tearful interview with Matt Lauer to defend himself.
A day after Christie Brinkely tearfully spoke to Matt Lauer about her messy divorce battle with ex-husband Peter Cook, Cook sat down with TODAY's Savannah Guthrie call out Brinkley's "crocodile tears," and defend himself.
Cook, 53, claimed he hasn't had a conversation with the former supermodel, 58, in close to four years and called her allegations of harassment and bullying "nonsense."
"The entire content of her interview was a lie," Cook said. "You don't hear about Peter Cook until Christie Brinkley dredges something up from the past to make herself relevant in the media again."
In Brinkley's first TV interview since her dispute with Cook began four years ago, she accused Cook of "character assassination," and claimed Cook wouldn't leave her and her children alone.
Cook responded to Brinkley's allegations with a statement, claiming that Brinkley was dishonest about the circumstances surrounding their court battle, and that she was inflicting further harm to their children by continuing with the "public battling."
"[She] does not want peace, she wants attention," Cook wrote in a terse statement. "I wish she would find a way to move on."
Brinkley and Cook share a 13-year old daughter, Sailor. He also adopted Brinkley's 17-year-old son, Jack, from her previous marriage to Richard Taubman.
