Pee-wee Herman Makes Los Angeles His New Playhouse

Pee-wee's Playhouse with all the shenanigans is coming to LA

Secret word: Comeback.

Paul Reubens is bringing “The Pee-wee Herman Show” back to Los Angeles in a limited 4-week engagement starting January 12, at Club Nokia @ LA Live. And this time it is going to happen -- we think.

Pee-wee's first comeback show was originally set to open in November at The Music Box Theatre and continue through the end of the year, but an overwhelming demand for tickets by Pee-wee super fans forced a venue change to the much larger Club Nokia.

“I’m really excited that fans are responding so incredibly to Pee-wee’s return,” said Paul Reubens on his web site. “To the fans who already bought tickets, I apologize for the inconvenience of the venue and date changes and am arranging for you to come backstage and say hello!"

Pee-wee's playhouse will have the same kooky feel as the classic Saturday morning show, but it is recommended for grown-ups and only appropriate for ages 16 to 106, according to Pee-wee's Web site (If you happen to be 107, sorry … you just won't get some of the humor).

Tickets for the show can be purchased through ticketmaster.com, and you are guaranteed to love it so much that you should just marry it.

The new show will have some of the mainstays of the early program such as Miss Yvonne, Mailman Mike, Randy and Jambi the Genie. Pee-wee’s talking chair, Chairry, Pterri the pterodactyl, Conky the robot, Magic Screen, and Cowboy Curtis will also play parts in the upcoming stage show. However, Cowboy Curtis will not be play by original cast member, Laurence Fishburne.

"(Reubens) is really sweet. I got this call from him; he was like, 'Fish, I didn't want you to hear it on the street that I'm doing the show and I had to have a Cowboy Curtis,' " said Fishburne to contactmusic.com. " ' I'm going to hire another guy to do it.' He realized that because of my commitment to CSI, I wasn't going to allow me to come and do the show."

If you can't wait until January to get reconnected with Pee-wee and his gray suit and red bowtie, then you can follow him on Twitter, Facebook or Picturephone calls, but make sure you take an appropriate break for "snack time."  For the die hard fans of the show, you could always order the Playhouse action figures and put on your own show.

The first time you hear that patented laugh from Pee-wee you will know the comeback ( AHHHHAHAHAH! ) is complete.
