Rob Lowe Leaving ABC's “Brothers and Sisters”

Actor says goodbye to another ensemble role

Rob Lowe needs some family-free time.

The actor is divorcing from ABC hit "Brothers and Sisters," Lowe's publicist told the Associated Press Friday.

Lowe, who plays Sen. Robert McCallister on the ABC ensemble drama, will depart at the end of the season, Nicole Perez-Krueger said Friday.

On the show, Lowe's character is married to Kitty, portrayed by Calista Flockhart. Lowe has starred on the drama for four seasons alongside Flockhart, Rachel Griffiths and Sally Field.

Lowe, 45, left hit "The West Wing" in 2003 to star in "The Lyon's Den," which was canceled after six episodes.

His next gig is in the TV movie "Too Late to Say Goodbye," in which Lowe plays a villain.
