Redferns

It's amazing the George Michael manages to keep it together at all. Having been arrested for bathroom related activity on more than one occasion (once for soliciting sex, once for drug-related activity), but his latest run in with the cops took place on the road. Michael collided with another car, and some suspected he might have been drunk. "Neither of us was charged because we were both stone cold sober," he said.

George Michael may have found a father figure of sorts in the form of rehab.

The British pop star completed a quiet stint at a treatment facility as a response to a July 6 incident in which he drove his car through a storefront in an upscale London neighborhood, reports E! Online.

The former Wham! front man released an open letter on his website on August 27 about the events of that day and their immediate aftermath.

"I feel you should know that on the day after the incident I checked in to a clinic for a 14-day detox program here in London," he wrote to his fans. "Personal problems which I had tried to deal with myself had clearly got the better of me, and I am sorry that my pride has prevented me from seeking help before now."

Michael is still receiving outpatient drug counseling "several times a week," according to the missive.

He is due in court September 24 for sentencing after pleading guilty last week to driving under the influence of drugs and cannabis possession.

Michael, 47, was barred from driving for two years after a 2007 incident where he obstructed traffic while high on a "cocktail" of drugs. He also crashed his Range Rover into a truck in August of 2009.
