Katy Perry showed her support for the troops through her music and attire.

The pop star and other female singers performed in front of American service members as part of the "VHI Divas Salute the Troops" special in the San Diego area, The Associated Press reported.

Perry’s performance kicked off and concluded the program at the Marine Corps Air Station in Miramar Friday night, which also included acts such as Keri Hilson, Sugarland, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Nicki Minaj and Heart.

The opening number featured Perry, Hilson and Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles decked out in WAC-like attire performing the ‘40s hit “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” immortalized by the Andrews Sisters.

Perry’s outfits also evoked both patriotism and sexiness. In one part of the show, she wore a U.S. flag tank top, tight blue mini-shorts and knee-high white boots. And during the closing number, “Firework,” the singer wore a sultry red dress seemingly inspired by the garb worn by Jessica Rabbit, the character from the movie “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.”

"You know me, I love vintage," Perry told the AP. "I love pinup girls. So, I tried to recreate that. I think any Army guy has a soft spot for a girl that can be painted on their plane."

The singer also took time to meet with service members during her appearance at the show. "There was a kid who I met backstage who was rather chatty, but adorable," she said. "He was really sweet. He was 19. He had such a good heart. He said, 'Yes, ma'am' to me. 'Yes ma'am!' I was like, 'O.K.! Yes, sir!'"

VHI Divas Salute the Troops,” hosted by Kathy Griffin, will air tonight at 9 EST. According to the AP, a publicist for the cable channel said that approximately 27,000 people audience members were present for the taping of the program.
