Songwriter Kara DioGuardi has found life after leaving "American Idol."

First, the former judge of the popular music talent show landed back onto television with her own show, "Platinum Hit." Now DioGuardi will be making her Broadway acting debut as Roxie Hart in the hit musical “Chicago,” starting Sept. 5 for eight weeks, The Associated Press reported.

DioGuardi is joining some famous company of actresses who have played the merry murderess role—among them Bebe Neuwirth, Brooke Shields, Marilu Henner, Michelle Williams, Melanie Griffith, and Sandy Duncan.

Reportedly, Bravo is working on a new reality show featuring DioGuardi, which will center on the hit maker guiding emerging songwriters, according to Playbill.
