Grammy officials are hoping that the third time is the charm for their prime-time nominations special, which didn't fare so well in ratings the previous two years.
The nominees for top recording artists of the year be announced on Dec.1 at "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live," the Recording Academy confirmed.
"Despite two years of low ratings, the Grammy nominations will once again be unveiled in a prime-time special," the Associated Press reported.
According to Variety, the CBS program, set to air at 10p.m. EST, will feature "special interspersed announcements of the nods in major categories - album, song and record of the year and best new artist with some genre-based noms and perfs by high-profile talent."
In years past and before making its prime-time debut, the nominations were announced in a morning news conference.
The actual Grammys award show will air live from the Staples Center in L.A. on Feb. 13.
