Eddie Van Halen Recovering From Emergency Surgery

Rocker suffered from "a severe bout of diverticulitis" but is expected to fully recover within four to six months.

Eddie Van Halen is on the mend!

Per his band's official website, the famed 57-year-old rocker recently "underwent an emergency surgery for a severe bout of diverticulitis." (In diverticulitis, pouches that have formed in the wall of the intestine become inflamed or infected and cause a great deal of pain.)

Van Halen postpones summer tour, band feuding again

Fortunately, the band's website says that "no further surgeries are needed and a full recovery is expected within 4 - 6 months."

In the meantime, Van Halen's planned November 2012 tour of Japan is in the process of being rescheduled. Per their website, the band "looks forward to seeing and playing for their fans in 2013."
