If classical music is your passion, two new doors are opening for you in the nation’s capital.

WETA announced the launch of VivaLaVoce. It is a new radio station playing classical vocal music you can catch by livestream online and via the HD2 signal of Classical 90.9 FM.

“VivaLaVoce takes advantage of powerful new media to bring beautiful vocal music to our audience around the clock,” said Sharon Percy Rockefeller, president and CEO of WETA.

You will find a wide range of choral selection including large works such as Mozart’s Requiem and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis. VivaLaVoce will also play operas performed by world-renowned companies such as the Metropolitan Opera and the Royal Opera House Coven Garden.

In addition to hearing it on HD2 radio you can receive the new programming by visting www.vivalavoce.org.
