No, Tronster IS His Legal Name

At Least His Favorite Movie Isn't 'The Blob'

How much do you love your favorite movie? Do you love it enough to change your name in its honor? You would if you’re Todd Hartley -- or should we say Tronster Hartley?

The Baltimore-area man loves “Tron.” He really, really, REALLY loves it. In fact, he loves it so much that he had his first name legally changed to Tronster eight years ago.

The 1982 sci-fi classic also inspired Hartley, now 34, to pursue a career in video games. He studied computer science in college, and now designs video games for Firaxis Games, based in Sparks, Md.

“’Tron’ established a fantasy version of what it looks like inside computers,” Hartley told the Baltimore Sun. “And it went beyond my expectations, with ‘light-cycles,’ tanks, all these magical components of a diverse world.”

This really is the season to be jolly for Hartley. “Tron Legacy” will be released in theaters nationwide tomorrow.
