Will Smith's Son Jaden on Emancipation Rumors: “I'm Not Going Anywhere”

Young actor addresses all the speculation during an appearance with his father on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show"

Jaden Smith offered up a completely logical reason why he would never want to be emancipated from Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.

"See, here's the thing. I'm not going anywhere. The thing that people don't get is everything at this house is free," the 14-year-old explained during an appearance on Wednesday's "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in the wake of a false report by The Sun. "I can get anything and everything at his house, so I'm going to be there for 20, 30 years. He says as soon as I have a movie that's bigger than one of his movies, I can get my own house."

As for how such a rumor got started in the first place?

"I think I made a joke in Tokyo," Will said, before playfully adding: "I mean, my baby boy, he's never leaving me, ever. No emancipation for the Smith kids."

Meanwhile, Will and Jaden will soon be seen together again on the big screen when their sci-fi thriller, After Earth, hits theaters on May 31.
