Solange Knowles Cancels European Tour Dates Citing Mental and Physical Health

Singer hopes that fans will be sympathetic to her needing to spend more time with her family

It's all about balance.

Solange Knowles announced today that she has cancelled her European tour dates for August 2013.

And while the decision didn't come easily for the 27-year-old singer, she hopes that fans will be sympathetic to her needing to spend more time with her family.

"I wish I could put in words how much of a difficult decision this was," the singer wrote in a statement on her website.

"But between moving part time to a new city, starting my son in a new school, and writing/recording my new record...I really had to make the best decision for my mental/physical health and provide some stability for my family."

She added, "I am so so sooooo sorry if I've disappointed...and really hope to make it out to those special cities soon enough!"

Beyonc's little sis would have been traveling in Europe for over approximately two weeks and making stops at nine cities including London, Oslo and Helsinki.

No word yet on whether or not she'll cancel her domestic tour dates, which begin next month at her brother-in-law JAY Z's music festival, Made in America.
