Snoop Dogg Focusing on Youth Football Before Super Bowl

Super Bowl weekend isn't just about the championship game for Snoop Dogg — it's also a reminder that the next generation of NFL greats need to develop.

The rapper has for years sponsored a youth football league that has now seen several players turn pro.

"I care about the kids and them having a great time, traveling the world and seeing things that they’ve never seen before," Snoop Dogg told NBC4 at the Snooper Bowl in Scottsdale, Arizona. "If I can make that happen for them, you know one day they’ll pay me back with being successful and being great young men in this world and that’s what’s happening right now. We have kids in the NFL, playing on Saturdays, playing on high school games."

Running back Ronnie Hillman, who was in Dogg's league growing up, was part of last year's Denver Broncos team that made it to the Super Bowl.

The Broncos lost, but Dogg said it's may only be a couple of years before one of his boys becomes a Super Bowl champion.

"They're coming out left and right," Dogg said Friday before performing at the DirecTV Super Fan Fest.

"We did a great job as far as establishing this football league years ago," he said.

De'Anthony Thomas, who played at the University of Oregon before being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs, was a player in Dogg's league.

"A lot of the kids are growing up doing big things and representing the Snoop League in a positive light," said Snooper Bowl referee Don Taylor.
