Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update is going to look a little different this year: Cecily Strong is out, and The Daily Show's Michael Che is in.

Now before you panic, Strong fans, this doesn't mean she's leaving the show. She will return to being a featured player, meaning that she is now free to also return to playing her fan-favorite Weekend Update character, "The Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation With at a Party."

Che joined SNL as a writer last season, and is also a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He will serve as co-anchor with head writer Colin Jost, who joined Update after Seth Meyers got his own late-night show in February.

While new hires are still being made, we also know that several cast members will not be returning for season 40, including Brooks Wheelan, Noel Wells, John Milhiser, and Nasim Pedrad. While Wheelan, Wells, and Milhiser only joined the show last year, Pedrad has been a cast member since 2009, and will now be co-starring on the new Fox sitcom, Mulaney.

Saturday Night Live returns on September 27 with Chris Pratt as the host and Ariana Grande as the musical guest. Sarah Silverman will host the October 4 episode with Maroon 5.
