Madonna Pays Tribute to Paris Attack Victims with Surprise Public Concert

Madonna held a surprise performance in honor of the victims of the Nov. 13 terror attacks at the Place de la Republique in Paris on Wednesday, according to her Twitter page.

The pop star, who is in Paris for a two-night stop for her Rebel Heart tour, tweeted that she was heading over, urging her fans to “meet me there now.”

Videos posted on YouTube show fans crowded around her as she sang with her son, 10-year-old David and guitarist, Monte Pittman, who’s currently touring with the pop singer. Madonna sang “Ghost Town” and John Lennon’s “Imagine” with those who attended the impromptu concert.

Madonna paid tribute to the victims during her concert in Stolkholm on Nov. 15, which left 130 people dead and many more injured.

"It's been really hard, actually to get through the show because in many ways, I feel, I feel torn. Like, why am I up here dancing and having fun when people are crying over the loss of their loved ones," she said to the Stolkholm audience. "However, that is exactly what these people want to do. They want to shut us up. They want to silence us. And we won't let them."

Madonna plays her final night in Paris on Dec. 10.
