Leah Remini to Star in Reality TV Show for TLC

Leah Remini is getting real.

The former "King of Queens" star just landed her own reality TV show for TLC, the network announced on Wednesday. The series is expected to debut this summer.

The currently untitled series, which was picked up for 12 one-hour episodes, will focus on Remini's family, including her husband of 10 years, Angelo Pagn, and her nine-year-old daughter, Sofia, as well as her opinionated mother, stepfather, sister and brother-in-law.

Joining in on the fun will be Sofia's brash British nanny, Leah's wisecracking housekeeper and her personal assistant who is also an aspiring actor.

"Leah is a no-nonsense, hard-working, relatable mom, wife, daughter, and sister. Her sharp humor and unfiltered family are a perfect match for the network," said TLC's GM Nancy Daniels said in a statement. "This series continues our focus on creating compelling series about remarkable families, using heart and humor to anchor it to the TLC brand."

Also known for her stints on "Dancing With the Stars" and "The Talk," Remini, who currently stars on TV Land's "The Exes," recently made headlines after she opened up about her exit from the church of Scientology. In an in-depth interview with Buzzfeed, Remini said she left the religion for her daughter, Sofia.

"In my house, it's family first--but I was spending most of my time at the church," Remini explained. "So, I was saying 'family first,' but I wasn't showing that. I didn't like the message that sent my daughter."

This isn't Remini's first reality show as she let VH1 document her 2003 wedding and the 2004 birth of Sofia as part of their (Inside) Out series.
