Kathy Griffin Shaves Head in Solidarity With Her Sister's Cancer Battle

The comedian's mother praised her daughter, calling her a "wonderful human being"

Comedian Kathy Griffin shaved her head in a dramatic display of solidarity with her sister, who is battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.

Images tweeted by writer Yashar Ali show Griffin, known for her striking red hair, with a completely bald head. In one image, Griffin's mother is seated next to her daughter expressing her disbelief.

"In solidarity with her sister, who is going through chemo, @kathygriffin shaved her head," Ali wrote.

Griffin's mother, Maggie Griffin, praised her daughter in a tweet, calling her a "wonderful human being."

In 2014, Griffin’s older brother, Gary Griffin, passed away after battling stage-four esophageal cancer for two years. The comedian expressed her support for her brother in an Instagram post after his passing.

Griffin made headlines earlier this year for her appearance in a photo shoot where she held a replica of President Donald Trump’s decapitated head, and announced last week she is no longer under Secret Service investigation for the photo.
