“Jeopardy!” Contestant Gives Hilarious Wrong Answer, Still Wins

Some of Cyndi Lauper's music can be quite inspirational.

That probably wasn't why "Jeopardy!" contestant Choyon Manjrekar wrote "What is Kinky Boots?" as his challenge answer during Monday's final challenge, but he certainly gets props for having a sense of humor.

The "Jeopardy!" clue provided was this: "A Christian hymn & a Jewish holiday hymn are both titled this, Also the name of a 2009 Tony-Nominated Musical."

As you can see in the clip above (excerpted by NBC's "Today"), Choyon's face was comically serious as his answer was revealed.

NEWS: Celebrity "Jeopardy!" is back

"Kinky Boots, yes indeed," read host Alex Trebek with a chuckle. "Whenever people go to temple or church, they sing 'Kinky Boots.'" Lauper wrote the music and lyrics for the Tony-winning musical of the same name that is still in performances on Broadway.

It was evident from Choyon's reaction that he didn't know the correct answer ("What is Rock of Ages?"), but thankfully, he didn't wager any money with this clue. Neither of his opponents knew the correct answer either (their guesses weren't nearly as funny, though), so Choyon still walked away the winner.

This "Jeopardy!" superstar seems to have found his moment of game show infamy rather amusing, too. He's taken to Twitter to chronicle his recent brush with viral stardom, responding to fan questions about his stint on the show and posting pictures of his clothes-wearing cats just for kicks.
