Geraldo Rivera as Donald Trump Gets Dumped on ‘Dancing With the Stars'

"Unfortunately, you did not make dance great again," said judge Carrie Ann Inaba

"Dancing with the Stars" has delivered its first elimination. We were neither surprised nor really that upset to see Geraldo Rivera and partner Edyta Sliwinska sent home after two disastrous attempts at dancing (on Geraldo's part). We don't feel bad saying that, because he knew it himself.

"I would have demanded a recount," he said of the alternate universe in which he was not sent home.

The 72-year-old TV journalist dressed as presidential hopeful Donald Trump on Monday night’s episode, donning a blond wig and starting his routine in a set made up to look like the Oval Office. His dance pro partner posed as Trump’s wife, Melania, for their salsa performance.

"Unfortunately, you did not make dance great again," said judge Carrie Ann Inaba in her critique of the routine. "But you did make me laugh."

Rivera – who tweeted images of his preparation and performance – said he was friends with the politician, who fired the TV personality when he was on "Celebrity Apprentice," and thought he would "get a kick" out of the routine. Trump has yet to comment on Rivera's impersonation.  [[373848451,C]]

Trump's ex-wife Marla Maples is also one of the featured contestants on this season of the reality dancing competition. What did she think of Rivera's get-up? "I just love Geraldo," Maples told E! News, "And I kept going, 'Donald, I mean Geraldo!'" Still, she thought it would've been "hilarious" if Rivera ditched his signature 'stache, but admitted, "There was no way he's giving up the moustache!"

The former talk show host was joined at the bottom of the "DWTS" pack by Mischa Barton and no one else, if you go by score. Rivera managed a measly 13, Barton scored 15, and the next lowest score was Antonio Brown's 19/30.

On the other side of things, UFC fighter Paige VanZant tied with Boyz II Men member Wanya Morris for the night's highest scores of 24/30 and the most enthusiastic reviews from the judges. VanZant's dance was particularly impressive given the fact that her partner, Mark Ballas, was sidelined due to injury, and she only had two hours to practice with back-up partner Alan Bernsten.
