WATCH: “I've Won Television”: Stephen Colbert Crashes “The Daily Show” to Announce He's Leaving “The Colbert Report”

"Almost 9 years ago I promised to change the world and together--I did it," Colbert said.

Stephen Colbert crashed the "Daily Show" Wednesday night to tell Jon Stewart the "The Colbert Report" will be coming coming to an end.

"I have to Jon, don't beg me to stay. You see there is no mountain left for me to climb," Colbert said to Stewart. "It has become clear to me that I've won television."

Colbert continued to humorously praise himself.

"You see, almost 9 years ago I promised to change the world and together--I did it,"

"You have a gift. Why do you stay in television? I've heard that David Letterman is retiring," Stewart said.

"Yeah I've heard that too but they already gave the part to some fat guy," Colbert said.

CBS Television Network recently announced Colbert will succeed David Letterman as the host of "The Late Show."

Then Colbert brought up the fact that, unlike John Oliver and other "Daily Show" correspondents who have left the show, he never got a goodbye accompanied with a reel of his past segments.

"You never left, you went to 11:30!" Stewart said. "We'll put something together."

"Don't trouble yourself Jon, I already did," Colbert said.

Then, a video played of with many of his "Daily Show" segments, after which Colbert said, "I'm really going to miss me."
